Position:? Sous Chef


?


Scope:? Provides overall leadership and coordination in the kitchen (Line cook, butcher, cooks, relief, tournant and pantryman, stewards). ?Directs and participates in the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of salads, soups, fish, meats, vegetables, desserts, or other foods according to Club Standards?of Operation. ?Assures high quality food is prepared for members/guests during all meal periods (regular dining and private event/banquet business).

Details:? As?the premier social/sporting club in New York City we are looking for an experienced?Sous Chef?to join our team of professionals.? Our ideal candidate will be self-motivated and detail oriented.

Minimum Requirements: ?A culinary degree professional capable of working in a hotel, private club or restaurant kitchen with fine dining and catering outlets.

Job Responsibilities:



  1. Exercise policies and procedures established by the executive chef and food & beverage director.

  2. Follow-up on assigned tasks.

  3. Remain a student of the industry and stay current with culinary trends.

  4. This position requires the ability of working effectively under pressure with limited time to accomplish multiple deadlines.

  5. Must be familiar with a variety of concepts, practices and procedures in the culinary department.

  6. Must practice and be familiar with sanitation and the prevention of food-borne Illness.

  7. Must be familiar with general safety regulations.

  8. Must be familiar with basic house rules, hours of operation and the names and titles of all department heads.

  9. Other tasks assigned by the executive chef / food & beverage director.

3.??? Must exhibit flawless appearance, presenting immaculate grooming and hygiene.
