The primary responsibilities of this position, which reports to the Director of Food Service, will be to assist the with the day-to-day operations of the Food Service department and kitchen to produce more than 3,000 meals a day, including creating and maintaining work assignments for staff, training & supervising staff, representing the Food Service Department at interdepartmental meetings and coordinating special events.? This position will develop menus and direct the staff in cooking and preparing food items to ensure the facilities fine dining experience.

The ideal candidate with a passion for culinary excellence must possess 10+ years of strong leadership experience working in large fine dining and catering establishments with high volume kitchen production and have a solid understanding of world cuisine, menu planning, food production, food presentation and purchasing.? An Associate or Bachelor?s degree from an accredited culinary school is strongly preferred. Experience with regulatory compliance, food safety, sanitation and overall workplace safety standards are required. ?Prior experience working in large healthcare facilities is desirable. Knowledge of Kosher dietary laws preferred.? Candidate must possess strong supervisory, organizational and excellent communications skills to provide five star customer service when interacting with staff, geriatric residents and resident?s families. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and food production software programs is required.
